Obituary for Willis Dickie R Cecil

Willis R. 'Dickie' Cecil, 70, of Radcliff, KY, died Friday, August 18, 2017 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was the past president of the Lincoln Trail Home Builders Association, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 3379, past Faithful Navigator. Dickie was a home builder for over forty years, Vietnam Veteran and was married to his loving wife for fifty one years.

He was preceded in death by parents, Willis and Mabel Cecil; three sisters, Anna Ruth Sherrard, Ruby Lee Sherrard, Patsy Stethen and a brother, W. O. Cecil.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Hazelett Cecil of Radcliff; his children, Danny (Kelly) Cecil of Radcliff, Tracey (Austin) Cecil Simpson of Vine Grove, KY, Mandy (Darren) Jent of Rineyville, KY; three brothers, Elroy Cecil of Vine Grove, Jay Mack Cecil of Elizabethtown, KY, Gene Cecil of Radcliff; two sisters, Noelita Davis of Upton, KY, Wanda Reesor of Radcliff; eight grandchildren Alisha Cecil, Dustin Cecil, Anna Cecil, Jamison Vanfossen, Jolie Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Macy and Kassidy Jent.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, in Vine Grove. There will be a prayer service at 7: 00 p.m. Monday.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove with Rev Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial will be in St. Brigid Catholic Church Cemetery in Vine Grove with Military Honors.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Veterans Tribute Group, P O Box 2573, Elizabethtown KY 42701.
